The OT appointment went well. We discussed how the school was seeing some behaviors such as rocking and more touchy/feely than usual. It happens mostly on days where they had a field trip or a change in the normal routine. Jessica said we need to tell them how important it is to remember to take along her sensory vest, allow her breaks and to tell her of changes of routine ahead of time so she can be somewhat prepared.
Jessica was happy with the progress Angel has made with following visual directions off a posterboard. We added a new pic for the board. "I need a break" picture so she can give this to us at home when she's feeling overwhelmed and can start to recognize this for herself.
Jess was also happy to see how well Angel is coming along on visually matching objects together and catching a very small ball, and jump rope. With jump rope she has a hard time jumping with 2 feet together, she always wants to jump with the left foot leading and it takes verbal reminders to get her to try with both feet.
She also discussed how Angel is weak in the upper body and both arms and that is why she was having difficulty removing shirts (which she has mastered now) and why she complains she's tired after climbing for only a few minutes.
